Ever had a squirrel munch on your pumpkin? It's real. But your dog will bark at them no more with this spooky, sarcastic system to deter unwanted visitors and greet trick or treaters. This pumpkin includes a motion activated sequence featuring lights, music, a waving flag (via servo), and a personal message displayed on an LCD that randomizes every time. The building process for this was difficult because narrowing it down from my many complicated ideas to something feasible in the time period took a while. I learned from this that an important part of engineering isn't just dreaming big, but knowing what actually is possible, especially if I go into a career. I also learned to check my Crafting Table emails so I can have 20 days to complete a project instead of two! I want to expand on this project later by adding more lights and an OLED animation in the eyes, but for now, it keeps the squirrels away.
